Mike left his native Ontario in 1983 for the higher altitudes of the Rockies. He worked for Parks Canada for a decade, including being a National Park Interpreter. A passionate lover of the mountain landscape, Mike enjoys backpacking, skiing & snowboarding, rock & ice climbing, mountain biking and whitewater kayaking. In 1997 he helped re-create the role of the Swiss Guides in the Centennial ascent of Mt. Lefroy. He is an accredited member of both the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and the Interpretive Guides Association. In 2002 he received the Award of Heritage Excellence from the Banff Heritage Tourism Corporation.
